At the very center of the celebration of the sacrament of Confirmation lies this truth; in this sacrament we receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. The essence of the Rite of Confirmation is that, through the sacrament, the faithful receive the Holy Spirit as a gift; it is this gift that will make a difference in our lives. Adults seeking information on Confirmation in the church should see the information under the RCIA program.
